“You may as well just go to an offline speed dating event…”
“SpeedDate.com is a complete joke.”
Those were the 2 quotes that we read online about SpeedDate.com that really stood out in our minds. This was before our SpeedDate.com membership began. If you’re unfamiliar with SpeedDate.com it’s not a traditional dating site. It’s completely different. You create a profile and all that but instead of trading emails back and forth with women, you go on many short “speed dates”.
A speed date online is similar to a speed date offline except you chat with them via Instant Message instead of face-to-face. Sounds like a cool concept to us. The problem is SpeedDate.com doesn’t do it right. Just in case you have no clue what the heck speed dating is all about we’ll inform you.
In the offline world of speed dating you go from table to table chatting with different women on each move. It’s called “speed” dating for a reason…you only talk to each women for a short period of time. At the conclusion of the event, you select women that you were interested in. If they selected you, you go out on a date with them. It’s kind of a cool concept. On SpeedDate.com, they use a similar concept except with Instant Messaging instead of going table to table.
Unfortunately, SpeedDate.com isn’t a good place to speed date. It’s filled with scammers and fake members. Immediately upon signing up you will get bombarded with IM’s from women. Sounds great, doesn’t it? It does…right up until you discover most of them are fake.
SpeedDate.com: Reviewing Our Results On SpeedDate.com
- 450 total emails sent out in 90 days.
- 38 replies received.
- 0 first date setup.
- 0 female showed up for a first date.
On SpeedDate.com you don’t send out emails to contact a woman. You send an IM and chat for a brief period of time. We received a response to 38 of the 450 IM conversations we started. That’s not good enough to get many dates. And that’s why we went date-less on SpeedDate.com.
At the conclusion of our review of each dating site, we asked a few questions to the lucky (or unlucky, depending on the site) guy that spent 90 days on there to get some feedback about the site. Those questions are as follows…
Question: What did you like best about this site?
Jason: Despite the annoyance of the fake members, it was a bit fun for a while. After a few days I was over it though.
Question: How would you describe the women on there?
Jason: Excluding the fake women, I didn’t like what I saw. And the chicks weren’t very classy either.
Question: Is this a site you would recommend? Why or why not?
Jason: I’m not a big fan of speed dating in general. I think there are better ways to meet women. But I’m really against SpeedDate.com. I won’t recommend it because it’s pretty much a scam.
What We Didn’t Like About SpeedDate.com. The SpeedDate.com Lowdown!
There was a lot we didn’t like about SpeedDate.com. The first thing we didn’t like was the women. They aren’t good looking. But what really irritated the heck out of us was the fake members. When you sign-up you will get bombarded with fake members messaging you. It gets very annoying.
Should You Be Using SpeedDate.com For Online Dating?
Speed dating is a fun game but it’s really hard to meet that special someone. You might find 5 or 6 girls you find interesting but that doesn’t mean you’ll get to meet one. That’s the problem with speed dating. You must have a mutual interest initially. We prefer traditional dating sites such as Match.com.
